RE: 5000 barrels/day in 1936= 20000 barrels today5000 barrels/day = 20000 barrels to-day???
Again, how long was the 1936 (or 1946) test and was this a stabilized rate? This seems very doubtful, based on the logic that 5000 bopd in 1936 or 1946 should have been very attractive to develop, but alas was never pursued.
Maysteeler repeats these wonderful headlines, but never provides any supporting data or convincing analysis. (I sure hope he is not a company man who is trying to promote these numbers)?
I do not have any details regarding the test data, other than having seen that an initial rate of 4800 bopd was reported. Rates from the previous wells were much lower and it was reported that there was significant decline on those wells. I have also seen data from other Iraqi fields with production from the Jeribe reservoir. As an average, this zone produces 2000 bopd, not 20,000 bopd! But maybe Maysteeler is thinking a 10 well field?? Likely will never hear about this from him.
