AG report on infrastructure

Note to Reader: The following is the text from a draft report written by the Office of the Auditor General that looks at the government's record on spending on infrastructure programs associated with the 2010 G8 Summit in Huntsville, Ont. This draft report was provided to QMI Agency by a source who has agreed only to be described as a supporter of the Conservative government. This draft, the source says, is from February, 2011. The source was motivated to provide this copy to QMI after The Canadian Press reported on the contents of an earlier draft, a draft from January, 2011. The Canadian Press reported that its source for its draft was "an opposition supporter." We cannot test the authenticity of this information as Auditor General Sheila Fraser has declined to comment and has, in fact, issued a statement in which she said: " I strongly caution the public to wait until our final report on the G8 Legacy Infrastructure Fund has been tabled in Parliament and made public."
Nonetheless, QMI Agency believes this leaked draft raises significant topics that may be an issue in the current election campaign.
