RE: Re scotiatradeI think it is because they can choose to submit your buy or sell request to the Alpha exchange or Venture and will choose to do whatever is more benefical (to them).  A TD Waterhouse rep basically told me that once when I asked him why my filled order didn't show up.  I do believe they could make a cent or two on the spreads by doing it this way.  I have often seen my bids filled at differnt prices than what it shows on the venture.  The ideal would be to see both at the same time but only the investment dealers and banks can usually do that.  Either way, they should be in sync eventually or be not that far off of each other.
