RE: SNM drilled 3400 in 91 days and had material nNewbie is an appropriate handle. So stay tuned and have faith in the drilling process.
If one reads the news releases properly, there is almost a 90% chance of an economic discovery further up the hole behind the first casing level. I believe that this is ;probably a 2-4000 bbls a day discovery from this first zone which was not even looked at from a discovery horizon. I recall that the first zone was about 180 ft of pay zone with 4 or 5 more to come.
The best is yet to come.
Heritage discovery is only 50 kms away. There are no sure thiings in life, but certainly not in oil exploration, but this is about as close as you can get without swimming in it as Jed Clampett did.
Think of it for a moment there newbie. the seeps on QD do not come from thin air. There are quite a number of them--enough to turn the whole mountain to a darker hue compared to the neighbouring topography. The source rock is not going away and the cap rock that we have just drilled through is not going away either.
The Kurds are not going to give the Yankee generals a bum steer as it were. They gave them the best concession from their view and incidentally from my view as well. Yes, I do have B.Sc in geology from a highly rated school with experience in Alberta's deep foothills where drilling to 3-4000 m. depths is common along with attendant drilling problems. They are nothing new when it comes to the folded and mutilated geology of mountain ranges.
I strongly believe that the wait will be worth the prize.
Regardless, the VAST well on QD has not come close to replicating WZR's drilling problems next door. they have learned from other's mistakes.
Besides, do you really think that a dry hole warrants two separate casings being cemented in to stabilize the hole. Niko obviously does and they don't throw money down dry holes when there is this much promise in the mud.
PS there is a mud log on the hole. Please google mudlogging and see what its about. Not a lead pipe cinch, but a pretty good indicator.
