The Hon. Brian Tobin Appointed as Chairman of Canadian Imperial Venture Corp.'s Advisory Board
ST. JOHN'S, June 17, 2011 /CNW/ - Canadian Imperial Venture Corp. ("CIVC" / the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of the Hon. Brian Tobin, former Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador as the Chairman of the Company's Advisory Board.

The Hon. Brian Tobin served as the Federal Minister of Industry from October 2000 to January 2002, prior to which he served as the Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador from 1996 to 2000. Mr. Tobin served as a Member of Parliament from 1980 to 1996 and served as Minister of Fisheries and Oceans in the federal cabinet from 1993 to 1996. Mr. Tobin is currently Senior Business Advisor with Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP in Toronto. Mr. Tobin also serves as Chairman and director of New Flyer Industries Inc. (NFI:UN-T), Chairman and director of Calvista Gold Corp. (CZV:T), director of Aecon Group Inc. (ARE:T) and served as Executive Chairman, President & CEO of Consolidated Thompson Iron Mines Ltd. (formerly CLM:T).

The Company also announced today that subject to final approval by the TSX Venture Exchange, the Company has granted to directors, officers and consultants of the Company Incentive Stock Options to purchase up to 4,300,000 Common Shares at an exercise price of
.10 per Common Share. Subject to the early termination provisions in the Plan, the Options will expire on June 17, 2016.
