: Worth of patents - PricelessYou all are trying to put a value on Wi-LANs patents based on an auction / bankruptcy sale price for Nortel IP. I don't know about you but when I buy at an auction it's 10 cents on the dollar that I strive for. So I would consider the revenues these potentially could bring in as massive.
What we have with Wi-LAN's ip are litigated and proven settlements that have brought 22 of the Largest tech companies to their knees. Undisputed .....
What you have with Nortel IP are patents that would be challenged for 3, 4, 5 years out. Or used for protection.
Ours patents are money in the bank so to speak and will continue to bring in revenues for some time to come. So based on Nortel patent auction price and future revenues they could bring can you put a revised number on Wi- LAN's.
Jim estimated a number of years ago, at that time - I think 2007 or 8, Wi-LAN was owed 3.4 billion I believe. That estimate , with the proliferation of Wi Fi and Blue tooth engaged in todays tech hardware I suspect that number to double.
