overvalued

overvalued

Here's my methodology-

To obtain the portfolio values I went to yahoo's headlines page for AAB
https://finance.yahoo.com/q/h?s=AAB.TO+Headlines

You can see the quarterly reports.
For example--

Tuesday, August 16, 2011
Aberdeen International Reports Value of Investment Portfolio and Cash of $1.17 Per Share for Second Quarter Ending July 31, 2011Marketwire (Tue, Aug 16)

I then looked up the closing price on the day of the News Release.

The numbers are what they are. At different times over the past 2 years AAB stock price has varied between .50 (or half) of the portfolio value to 0.70 of the portfolio value. Today it is trading at the high end of this range.

Hence, it's overvalued.

Before you jump all over me, I told you I'm long. In fact I'm long from 85 cents and higher so I'm losing. Nonetheless the figures are showing we're overvalued right now. The bad news is that if AAB moves to the lower end of its spread range based on current portfolio value, the sp may trade down to around 60 cents.
