MSD Mgmt and BOD--deja vuHad a long talk with one of the people who was around in themonths leading up to Skippen's leaving MSD.
amd joining WIN.
He informed me that much as the MSD Board and Mgmt are desperately trying to hang onto their well paying jobs sitting around the boardroom table angling to extend their executive carreers by a year or two, WIN's then Board and Mgmt was doing much the same thing in 2004-05.
the story goes that the board was meeting every month or two. $25,000 each per meeting or there abouts. The mgmt and Board were managing to pay themselves quite handsomely by holding firesaled patent licensing efforts to the likes of Cisco (but its getting close to get even time there) and God knows what else they were selling out just to meet the next month's rent. The end of the tech boom and subsequent malaise were paralyzing the firm. With the lack of organization, and chronic lack of funds that they had zero direction and that eventually had to come from Skip.
After some Board and lots of management changes, we were on our way.
Questionable moves, patent sell offs a desperate search for new investors:
Sound familiar.? WIN then, MSD now.
