RE: The ONLY reason JS wants MSD isI think you are off base.  When JS bowed out of the agere race, he did so on the basis that he did not think he could get more than 70 or 80 mill in licensing fees.   if he had to pay more than 70 mill and that was the MSD bid, he couldn't make any money. Tthat still holds true as MSd has only gotten about 40-50 mill in license fees so far and it s getting a little thin from here on in as the portfolio is pretty much tapped out   With some heavy slogging they might make money on it, yet, but don't forget its now been about 4-5 years already..
