As HL Mencken said “Never argue with a man whose job depends on not being convinced.” You hire a guy who knows how to use bankruptcies to restructure, and you get a guy who sees everything as a bankruptcy. PS, I made money on the Opti bonds. Just love those guys. :)
What we need is a single leader whose personality and compensation is based on bringing the company through without there being a CCAA. I don't see that guy. This management team in place today would probably just get new stock options issued after a CCAA anyway. They don't have enough skin in the game. I don't see the incentives lined up here.
