Green&Au you got it all wrong regarding the refinery. Did you even own shares back then? I doubt it or else you would have know that the refinery was green lighted by the governement but they couldn't get the financing. It has nothing to do with buy high and sell low. It was the ABCP disaster that triggered a major sell of in the markets and the financing dried up. If they would have gotten the financing then 50 bucks plus was speculation on where the price was headed. The only way you could have recovered from buying ALS at 20 bucks or so was to buy when it nosed dived at the end of 2008. Average down. Or else you could have picked up any other stock at the end of 2008 and made a major killing. Hindsight is  always 50/50 as the saying goes.

 

So the question is why don't they do it now. I have no idea why it has never resurfaced but I could take a wild guess and say that there is no profit to be made in building a refinery which was brough up on this board way back when.
