RE: GM....Nat gas trucks inexpensive to operate I hope they run better than propane fired lift trucks. I've driven brands from Komatsu, Linde, and Clark and none of them run well especially when it gets cold. It's not like this is new technology but I would have thought by now there wouldn't be so many issues. The down side to anything beside gas and diesel in a pickup is convenience. What are you going to do if you run out of fuel off road. It's not like you can call your buddy for a 5 gallon can of fuel. In my opinion the only way natural gas (LNG) is going to be feasible in a vehicle is with a fixed route commercial fleet such as buses, taxis, etc.
