Oncolytics Biotech Inc T.ONC

Alternate Symbol(s):  ONCY

Oncolytics Biotech Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company. The Company is focused on developing pelareorep, an intravenously delivered immunotherapeutic agent that activates the innate and adaptive immune systems and weakens tumor defense mechanisms. This compound induces anti-cancer immune responses and promotes an inflamed tumor phenotype turning cold tumors hot through innate and adaptive immune responses to treat a variety of cancers. This improves the ability of the immune system to fight cancer, making tumors more susceptible to a broad range of oncology treatments. The Company’s primary focus is to advance its programs in hormone receptor-positive / human epidermal growth factor 2- negative (HR+/HER2-) metastatic breast cancer and advanced/metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma to registration-enabling clinical studies. In addition, it is exploring opportunities for registrational programs in other gastrointestinal cancers through its GOBLET platform study.

Robin and Andy

Robin and Andy

Have been following a blog on Cancer survivors and Robin's husband Andy is a third line Head and Neck who had radiation with cisplatin, and then cisplatin with erbitux and 5fu. After about a year and failing those treatments he started the Phase III trial in early December had fast growing Mets throughout his body and they have been reduced by around 40% and is doing fairly well at this time. I'm about 90% sure he is getting the Reolysin. Latest post.

Roger,
My husband has bone mets but no pain. There was concern about one lesion in his pelvis for fear of fracture, so they radiated it. I do know that radiation is used for palliative care with bone pain and is quite effective.
Andy's mets were found in June and they have not grown. On his current treatment, they have actually shrunk so, I do believe it can be kept at bay and maybe for a LONG time.
Hope it's not mets but just wanted to share our experience, just in case.
If they are positive, I will be glad to tell you more about his current treatment.
