RE: RE: RE: Mr. Heartattack

RE: RE: RE: Mr. Heartattack

Great gadget if you can read your own EKG, I guess. Sure, you can store the info in a computer, then make an appointment to see your doctor, but what good will it do if you got chest pains, and you don't know if it's the real thing or heartburn from dinner? So, no call center, you either got to go to the emergency room, possibly unnecessarily, or take your chances.

The above 'bon mots'' ( apart from his very busy schedule )...were from the resident Dr. 'Maz'....when trying to malign a weaker competitor to make 'Heartcheck appear superior.......all well and good ....but were the obvious tip off that the good Doctor doesn't fall into the particularly 'clever' category.....and none of you have the insight to catch on!!

So let's stick totally with the good 'Docs' example but revert to the real world........not the hypothetical!!  Suppose you're in the 'at risk' category....so you ( someday in the future ) have your sleek new Heartcheck and its GEMSA software....covering all the bases so to speak.

You may work....maybe you're retired...you lead a life. You commute to work in the car...maybe public transit.....you go to the cottage....you visit your friends cottage...you go Canadian Tire..you fish...you play golf...you dine out with friends....maybe you take momma to the theatre and an overnight  at a nice hotel to ''rekindle'' as they say...a little of the old 'slap  and tickle'...( or for Syiena....that's playin' with yourself in the sandbox ).

Somewhere... sometime... in this 'living of life' you experience Dr Maz's above-noted 'chest pains'...and as  he so eloquently states ...''you DON"T KNOW  if it's the real thing or not''....most of us aren't medics...is it a minor nuance or the big Kahuna ???  So...you've got the sharp pain....now put yourself in any of those above noted real life ordinary situations.

Not to fear.. right...because you're clever ...you've remembered to bring the 'Heartcheck.!!

Pick any of the above scenarios that you like...you may be alone or accompanied...

''D#mn it Martha...I don't like the feel of this''.....

''Not to worry Ralph...your 'Heartcheck' is here in your tackle box.....we'll just take a reading''...but as the good Doctor Maz points out when belittling a competitor...great if you can read an EKG. But you can't....you're not expected to... nor are you qualified......but ...but...BUT....we have our saving grace....Dr. Maz's ''Call Center'' !!

Whooooaaaa  just a nanosecond.....I'm out in my boat....or living ordinary life as noted above...bad things don't just happen at home after dinner. So now the dilemma....my GEMSA software is loaded on my computer at home....so my access to the 'Call Centre isn't at my finger tips.  Home  may be many miles and or hours away....so what the H*ll do I do now....is this a serious pain or do I disregard it??

Do I ''take my chances'' to quote the good doctor....do I wing it ...and risk my life to drive home to enter my readings and pass them to the 'call centre' for an appraisal?? Or do I do what is most recommended...get the most immediate medical attention available by going to the emergency room.... possibly unnecessarily to quote the good Doctor  ( assuming you live that long !! )

The point is ...don't allow some bonehead poster to make  your  niche product look stupid by erroneously attempting to demonstrate that it has some magic that can  somehow save us from ourselves....it can't. Whether you're 'at risk' ...or presumed healthy....heart issues are serious. You can take all the readings you want.... and far be it from me to argue against it....no harm done.....and I'm confident there's a diagnostic value....but when the big Kahuna arrives ( it doesn't always give you the courtesy of prior notice that allows you to be at home in the easy chair with the 'call centre' conveniently at the ready)....the 'call centre' is probably not going to be the first thing in your mind....and if you've a serious sense of self preservation...it shouldn't be .

And remember...the approvals for any and all of these products are very quick to point out that they in no way are to be considered a substitute for a properly administered hospital ECG.

Possibly if/when the product shows up ...to fit into Dr. Maz's scenario...it will come with the stark warning...

''ENSURE THAT YOU ONLY ENCOUNTER SEVERE SYMPTOMS WHILE AT HOME''

                                       ...AND...........

''DO NOT LEAVE HOME WHEN USING THIS DIAGNOSTIC PRODUCT''

And in the FAQ followup ...to the question ...''what if I have to leave home and have a serious anomoly while out of contact range with the 'Call Centre??''

I'll let you folks fill in the answer....I'm not in my 'busy season'  as you may have noted !!

And apart from this etherial discussion...how's the price and volume doing ??????????

                                    .....GO   EKG    GO..........
