You are dead on with that. The principle (face) and the accrued dividend are summed before the conversion factor is applied.

 

You do realize that you just burst a few bubbles, don't you? I know some here were taking the accrued as payable at face value in cash or shares, which in their minds made the A's value after conversion as a lot higher than it actually will be.
