RIM had 20,000 employees at one time, now it is around 16,500 and this layoff is being put at between 2,000 to 6,000 people. Will the market view it as cost cutting or just that the company is shrinking at a rapid pace and does not have any need for them? Everyone likes a leaner company but no one likes one that is fading away. We will have to see how they view it.

Also, it makes me wonder why he would do it at this time. If BB10 is released when it should be and it is a big success then Thor would need these people. Is this a coded message?
