RE: Mining in the DR Dominican Republic has shown to be very mining friendly. Globestar build the Cerro De Maimon mine in 6 yrs from discovery to production. I'd be suprised if anyone could provide a situation anywhere in Canada that put a mine into production in that time frame. Most discoveries I've seen trying to get into production spend 4 yrs just trying to get through the eviromental red tape. Yes, the DR also has strick eviromental policies but nothing like we see in Canada. Never mind the First nations issues.
I'm sure Barrick and Goldcorp did their home work on political risk before commiting $3 billion to develope the Pueblo Viejo deposit.
