Canada-based tungsten producer Malaga is close to reaching an agreement for debt financing worth $3 million in order to increase production at its Peru operations.
The company currently produces about 350 tpd of tungsten ore from its mines, which are spread across three zones at its operations in the Andes. Its plant, however, has the capacity to process 500 tpd. Malaga is currently looking to increase its mine output to 500 tpd and its crusher capacity to 1,000 tpd. It is also in the process of setting up a tailings recovery pilot plant, with plans to install additional screens to recover the “finest fines” possible, president and CEO Pierre Monet said.
