Yes, Goldcorp is the operator. Goldcorp controls the rate of exploration activity.....Goldcorp controls the release of all news - Ewan likely wasn't in receipt of the news until hours before the release.

Because Goldcorp is a Sr Producer, it can be argued that news of a discovery is not necessarily a 'material change' in the co's affairs, and said news can be kept under wraps......indefinately. One of the draw-backs to dealing with the likes of G. I suspect Ewan has slightly more leverage over G that most Jr CEO's though.
