RE: Air Miles competition

RE: Air Miles competition

Does offering 60,000 Aeroplan points for a new Infiniti car purchase or 2000 Air Miles for a Buick, a loyalty program or promotional marketing?

Even if it is promotional in nature. Is 2000 AirMiles enough? I bought 50 Kellogg cereal boxes last week. It was 5 boxes for 100 miles. This year all went to the local Foodbank of which I got a charitable receipt for tax puposes. $250. For that, I received 1000 miles and maintained my gold card status for 2013 and the miles cost less than 10 cents after tax. I don`t need to buy a $40,000 car, only to get 2000 miles if its only for the miles sake.

So later Aeroplan and Air Miles are done with their promotional stuff, the car dealers have nothing continuing, (say receive miles for parts and service). And they call themselves loyalty companies. And here Futura is banging their heads trying to keep loyalty true to its name and is going to CCAA in doing so.

Sad that a small company has to show the larger companies how its to be done`right.
