ODIS already has an integrated laser, and the article implies that maybe IBM could make use of it to make their CISN platform fully integrated.
What the article should have said is that IBM is a bit too late. OPEL has the modulator (although it still needs to be demonstrated: Q1 2014), the photodetectors, the integrated WDM AND THE LASER.
The true question is what can IBM offer that ODIS does not already have? Or even better, how much money does IBM want to spend to put this CISN nonsense behind them and put POET on the map?
