Remember Duluth Duluth is down lately but the longer term story is intact . The CEO of Antofagasta , the big South American mining company that ownes a big piece of Duluth, is quoted in an article in today's Wall Street Journal as saying , " We believe that North America is again a more competetive area for copper production". The article comments on the cost pressures on Chilean copper miners and the comptetive advantages of the high productivity US mining and construction industry. CIBC Wood Gundy a couple of years ago in a detailed review of early stage copper properties in North America, done for its institutional clients, rated Duluth over all the most attractive property in part because its cost of production of copper was estimated to be less than zero because of the associated precious metals. Duluth will utimately pay off for WM shareholders .
