The devil you know will normally prevail in times of extreme uncertainty and minimal information. Hopefully that will change soon enough for the benefit of shareholders, as novel and outrageous a thought as that is for the current regime.
Unfortunately uncertainty, maybe not always extreme but always prevelant, and minimal information has been the prevailing climate around Bioniche forever.
Perhaps Bioniche is counting on one more swing for the fences with the well worn " just around the corner" pitch to maintain control. Perhaps they are quite confident as they know that the 9 mil shares that just changed hands are in their corner.
Finally, perhaps they have known for some time that this "dissident" operation was coming and have no concern whatsoever. I've seen bizarre occurrence after bizarre occurrence with Bioniche. Nothing would surprise me.
If nothing else, if the whole thing collapses in a blaze of glory, Canadian Biotech's most prolific excuse maker has the trump card of blame sitting in its back pocket. Although even that outcome may seem a little to contrived to more than a few people here.
