ENPAR AND WORLD CLASS SEPARATIONS COMPANY, EURODIA, SIGN MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR WORLDWIDE MARKETING OF ENPAR'S TECHNOLOGY FOR THE AGRO-FOOD INDUSTRY
Enpar Technologies Inc. has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Eurodia of France to evaluate and commercialize Enpar's novel water treatment technologies to its customers in Europe, North Africa and North America. As per the agreement, Eurodia will purchase a small-scale commercial unit.
Eurodia is a dynamic and innovative separation process company with 25 years experience in the design, construction and operation of turnkey solution treatment systems. These systems consist of ion exchange, electrodialysis, chromatography and filtration technologies for clients in the dairy, wine, sugar, sweetener, starch and green (or bio-based) chemicals industries on a worldwide basis. In 1999, Eurodia established a subsidiary known as Ameridia as a branch office for North America and South America. The main shareholder of Eurodia is the Tokuyama Corporation (www.tokuyama.co.jp/eng), a major Japanese chemical company based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan.
"The agro-food market offers many large scale application opportunities for the combination of ENPAR and Eurodia technologies", stated Mr. Daniel Bar, Vice President, General Manager of Ameridia. "As an example, in the starch and sugar industry, one potential application involves the processing of streams totaling several thousand, or even tens of thousands, of cubic meters per hour."
Dr. Shelp commented, "This MOU represents a significant business opportunity for ENPAR to work closely with a world class organization with significant market penetration in the agro-food business and considerable manufacturing expertise. In 2012, Eurodia purchased its first lab-scale water treatment unit from ENPAR and is now convinced of the efficacy and viability of the technology. The small scale commercial unit purchased as per the agreement will be used by Eurodia to demonstrate to its clients the synergistic benefits resulting from combining complementary leading edge technologies. In May of this year, ENPAR will begin collaborative work with a sister company of Eurodia, leading to the development of advanced composite materials for use in ENPAR's water treatment technologies. Given this agreement with Eurodia and our recent positive activities in Asia and the Middle East, 2013 is turning out to be a very exciting year for ENPAR."
