RE: RE: Government HAS responded. Why no News Rele No, I didn't expect the Gov't to rescind their decision. What they did do was state their case that there were concerns with respect to how the company dealt with waste water. While the project had passed various ecological tests there was enough concern about the plan to discharge waste water into Morrison Lake (which is a headwater to the Skeena River) that the ministers decided to decline the environmental certificate.
As for Stockwatch being ahead of the Company on this one, the Gov't response was dated June 4, 2013 and author Mike Caswell obviously read it and filed his report. There has not been an official news release that I can see either from the Gov't or the Company. The day after the Gov't response the Company repriced and extended their stock options but has yet to issue any news regarding the petition or the Gov't's response.
Suggesting that Stockwatch is "in bed" with someone is nebulous. They simply had a writer post a story on the contents of the Gov't response to Bookers petition.
I would think that the Company would want to get out in front of the story or at least state their position given the response. Instead, they leave the few investors they have confused and uninformed.
For the record, I am not against this project but the Company clearly had/has all its eggs in one basket and was heavily promoting the fact that they expected to get their permit. It didn't happen and their only recourse (because they don't have any other projects) is to fight the Gov't in court. Hard to believe that the Gov't will change their minds on this one although Bill Bennett is a different character. Even harder to fathom would be for there to be a cash settlement a la Boss Energy's Blizzard Uranium project.
