RE:ok qI would characterize the results as "very good". It's hard to judge what Axia's "bottom line" will be at any given quarter, there always seem to be "one time" charges or gains in income, so I usually keep an eye on the EBITDA more than anything else. For this quarter, Covage EBITDA margins were as good as Alberta, something that has never happened up to this point. And while Alberta is generally lacking in growth, Covage should continue to grow. (And Singapore's OpenNet is posting phenominal growth).
And get a load of some of the pricing models in France and Singapore. In the MDA statement, regarding the "Dunkirk" FTTH project in France, " four RSPs began offering a wide array of services to residential and enterprise customers including; 100mbps Internet access, IP telephony, IP television and Video on demand, and a free basic internet service to all homes which would allow for the use of simple applications such as e-mail or light web-browsing. For FTTH, depending on the triple play package, the end user pays €29.90 per month for 100 Mbps internet, basic TV and a metered phone service and €49.90 per month for 100 Mbps internet, premium TV and an unlimited phone service". (I wish I could sign up for that!) And in Singapore local RSP's package their own value added service priced at SGD $39.90 per month for 100 Mbps and SGD$395.90 per month for 1Gbps. I don't expect that the trend in France and Singapore will change anytime soon, the growth profile seems guaranteed.
