RE:Re Takeover Hype
RE:Re Takeover HypeThere are probably 3 main types of AMW investors who rail against a buyout/merger/amalgamation with FCU. First there's the anti-Dev camp who spend their spare time surfing the juvenile celebrity web sites on the internet and have personality issues with Dev as CEO of FCU/AMW. The second camp are those that don't fully understand the deal and prefer to maintain the status quo. The third main type are those who believe that two companies protect them best against a premature take-over by a major.
Of the three groups, the arguement from the third has the most merit but it's one that's far from foolproof as it too has the risk of losing long term value creation at PLS. It's possible that two companies (AMW & FCU) present a bigger obstacle for a major company to prematurely acquire PLS in it's entirety but there's nothing preventing the major from buying - FCU only. If that hurdle is breached, AMW shareholders can expect a smaller buyout for their share of PSL than they will receive by merging with FCU because the odds of another major making a superior bid than the original major and then partnering with them declines. It all depends on when a major decides to make a move.
