RE:4500 jobs cut = $400 million in savingsUnfortunately you are treating this like a 1 sided coin. People are not only part of the expense end of things they are also part of the revenue that paid them. Cutting 4500 jobs (40% of your employees) is conceding quite a sizeable drop in revenue unless you actually believe those people were unnecessary deadwood.
I also do not understand why people are so surprised by the phone sales. If you knew anyone from the upper supply chain right down to having a son or daughter working part time sales, they could have told you the phones were not moving. DD is more than just using an internet search engine.
