What troubles me is why they need a $1B loan when they have $2.5B in cash, equivalents and marketable securities? I think they are telling you that the cash bleed will not be over for a while.

Funny thing though. If just six months ago anyone had said that Blackberry would be going for a loan before the year is out, they would have been laughed off the board by the majority.
