They halt the stock when a NR greatly influence the future of a company. In this case, getting the test results will determine what happens in the short to medium term, and they halt the stock to give everyone a change to analyze the news and react accordingly. In other words, the next NR should be somewhat of a "do or die" scenario.
Poor results would not indicate the end of NFK by any means, but it would be a significant setback. On the other hand, great results have the potential to make the share price sky rocket.
