WEEK IN REVIEW: Ferro-alloy markets look with hope to 2014
LONDON (Metal-Pages) 15-Nov-13. The start of the ferro-alloys mating season brought cautious optimism for 2014, with the markets looking to growth in the Chinese steel industry and sustained recovery in the US. The European economy remains the ugly duckling in this equation, however this week's meetings brought about a number of larger enquiries from European mills restocking ahead of the year-end, alongside pricing discussions for next year. Spot prices for noble ferro-alloys sustained recent gains, and ferro-titanium appears to have recovered from the weakness seen in October, supported by tightness for prompt material and firm scrap prices.
