RE:SO SADI don't know where you are from but you appear to have insufficient information. Workers from this province like workers in all provinces are highly mobile and work all over Canada. If you are tuned in to what is happening you would know that Nalcor is looking for 3300 workers for the Muskrat Falls Hydro Electric Project and is having difficulty finding them. It looks like many of the workers will come from outside NL, perhaps some of them from as far away as Brazil. Workers go where the jobs are that match their skills. That is the reality.
And anyway I don't see western Newfoundland becoming a big employer. When the oil is developed it will be a highly mechinized affair requiring few workers. The biggest attraction will be the royalties for government coffers but that too will be rather insignificant compared to the enormous royalties currently generated by the offshore. It's true that fracking has been in the news here but western Newfoundland oil receives very little attention. As I stated the attention is on the offshore where the big money is.
