MAA is definitely a wierd one. It's holding pattern in the face of so much potential is frustrating. But I don't think there is manipulation. The volumes are so low at the moment, there I just think there aren't enough shares on the open market for anyone to orchestrate a concerted effort to manipulate the share price. I think most investors are holding long, waiting to see the ROI.

As for the reason for the low share price, there are a lot of possible reasons including; still no official confirmation of construction, 86%+ concentration of ownership discuraging potential investors, potash market flucuations, global/Chinese economic uncertainty, risk of investing in Africa... There are plenty of reasons to see risk and stay away.

Once construction is announced, there should be a spike in price, but I don't think we'll see real movement until production starts. And unless Dividends start getting paid, we might never see real value for our shares. If I was looking at a 1.2m/t potash company with 86% ownership, no dividends and no plan on payinbg them, the stock doesn't have much value if you don't think the company is going to be sold at some point, and you can get your piece of the pie.
