RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:My email to Black SpruceMy apologies go out to Yajne. I don't usually lash out like that. I too have a sizable sum of money 'invested' in SPE but it was my decision so I don't blame anyone. These situations are not investments they are 'gambles' but if they are successful the payback is big. Newfoundlanders are not the only people who go away to work. Workers from all of eastern Canada do it. Many of them come here to work in the off shore oil industry, at Voisey's Bay, at Long Harbour, at Bull Arm and in Labrador City. That is the nature of work in the modern world and trades people have generally adjusted. At least those that I know have...two weeks on, two weeks off, big salary and all the things that go with it. With regard to west coast oil development my opinion is that it will not lead to the creation of a large number of jobs because of mechanization. The major benefit will be royalties for government coffers. Concerning elections: governments here usually have a shelf life of ten years and the Conservatives look like they will suffer the wrath of the electorate next year. For the vitriolic Ellen I have no comment.
