RE:RE:Pro-uranium minister kicked out of the Slovak government!wintersun: You have probably misplaced your post because what you have written here is not related in any way with the fact that I have pointed out, i.e. that the pro-uranium minister Malatinský was kicked out of the Slovak government. Anyway, I would be glad to hear that EUU was not interested in mining uranium in Košice anymore - if that was really true, of course - but it's not so. If they have really abandoned the plan, why didn't they return the exploration licence back to the ministry? Why are they making the "joint venture" theatre with Forte Energy? They must have learnt by now that nobody wants them here - at least from the open letter that has recently been sent to them by the Slovak Union of Nature and Landscape protectors (

(quoting)
"From the above information it is clear that under the circumstances the only reasonable action for both of your companies, European Uranium Resources and Forte Energy NL, is to immediately end all of the activities related to the Košice-Jahodná-Kurišková uranium deposit and to exercise your exploration and mining skills elsewhere, preferably in your home Canada and Australia. Continuing with your activities in Košice despite the negative opinion of the local people and all of their elected political representatives, ignoring the unavoidable health and environmental risks of uranium mining in the closest neighbourhoods of 300,000 people and of their drinking water sources, can only lead to losses of money and trust of your shareholders. We hope that you will be wise enough to realize that and to act accordingly."
It seems they are not wise enough :-(
