Aggman comment:
  • I'm more interested in the commentary on market and its trajectory - which, clearly is good here - on 2014 H@ and what they see through into 2015, at this juncture.
  • Eagle Materials call (EXP) - which had just made an acquistion in Wisconcin of CRS Proppants - did talk up the industry and did talk up the quality of northern white (which is Victory Silica's sand product).  EXP will train that down to Corpus Christi, TX to blend in with local sand.
  • EXP had good things to say about the direction of Portland cement and oil well cement - both volume and pricing - seeing very good demand and pricing +6% and generally being sold out in all their cement markets.
  • Winter is comming - that eases rail issues in nth central US.  cement demand tails - be interesting to see how much seasonality is in the frac sand industry; there will be some seasonality for VS - however we are not talking big vols at this point - so i expect them to be sold out, at good prices, and to be improving their operating performance - what ever the season.
