That is exactly what is happening. Pushing. The paper pushers control the price of gold. They can drive the price of gold down without an ounce of gold changing hands. No one is pushing the share price of PG. It just follows the gold(paper) action. There is nothing we can do with the current gold climate. We (I) certainly don't have deep enough pockets.
