RE:RE:RE:RE:Buyers Bargain
RE:RE:RE:RE:Buyers BargainParts of ARF could certainly be the type of bolt-on business CRH might pursue but Brookfield has virtually ensured that any interested buyer would need to enter into an all or nothing transaction. It would need to generate proceeds sufficient to clear all Brookfield and other lender debt together with employee and trade creditor obligations. Any strategy aimed at buying (and keeping) only the ARF jewels would need to be based on dumping the paste assets at some pretty fancy (read 'unrealiseable') prices.
In my opinion the ARF directors have focused only on a way to negate any potential personal liability (wages, salaries, severances and taxes). This has resulted in Brookfield being given an impossible-to-match means of taking the entire company and its assets for much less than anyone else might have to pay.
