San Gold Mining Jobs At Risk

It’s not shutting down, but an official from San Gold Mining confirms to 680 CJOB there will be significant operational changes at the Rice Lake gold mining complex in Bissett, Manitoba.

San Gold remains in court ordered creditor protection after a 2010 expansion was followed by a steady drop in the price of gold.

A company official says the mine employs about 300 people and full details of the slow-down will be disclosed Monday.
