While it certainly is true that gold prices can flucuate, history shows that gold retains its value over time far better than fiat money. Why do you think it is that the biggest number of visitors to the BitGold website come from Spain, Mexico and Venezuala these days?

Could it be that those people are losing confidence in their governments?
