TA preferred stocks better investment

TA preferred stock serie A redeem. at $25.(TA.pr.d - TSX) gives a $1.15 dividend.
The stock is trading at $10.20 for a yield of 11.3%. The dividend is cumulative and is bound to be paid even if they cut the common div.
I really don't see the point of buying the common stock
