RE:I own some debs I own debs also and agree with you - I have no desire to sell my debs unless at a premium.  However, there are other types of holders of the debs.  For example, a high yield bond fund that may sell based on other criteria than you or I such as yield spreads and who do not put as much emphasis on the convertibility of the debs.  Or, if another holder needs to sell due to a margin call or other cash requirements that you and I do not need to consider.  I think it is a good option for LSG to be able to jump into mkt and buy back debs at discount (if this should happen) or close to face value (even though they are not really retiring a significant amount of the debs - 10% per year).  why not shore up balance sheet where ever possible (this helps me as I own shares too)?
