Playing with numbers
What's the minimum this is worth to VLE? They get $6m for back expenses and a $10m break fee. They also effectively get half of the $10m minimum capex spend. So let's say $21m in all. That's C$27m, or C$0.46/share.
I guess you could say that some of that 46 cents was already in the stock price. although I wouldn't say so myself. What's really impressive is that, in world full of mouth-watering bargains, Statoil chose this one.
