There is an additional important factor to explain the huge drop last January/February and it had NOTHING to do specifically with Bombardier.  We see the same thing over and over whenever there is a severe correction in the market.

In January/February we had a severe correction.  Margins calls were issued to traders and speculators when the shares held in their account fell to the point more money was needed to maintain the account in good standing.

BBD.B shares were not eligible to margin.  As such they were often the shares unloaded by traders/speculators needing to raise funds quickly to meet the margin calls. That is often what most traders do in such circumstances: sell the losers without borrowing facilities (no margin available).  You only need talk to a few brokers to confirm the magnitude of that problem last Winter.

And, as often happen, sellers oversold on the downside - they always do.  Traders/speculators willing to purchase the shares below $1.00 for a quick rebound ("dead cat" bounce") made a quick buck.

"but stocks ARE ALL A GAMBLE"

I obviously do not agree but LUCK sometimes play a great part in winning.
