Barkerville Project

Barkerville, the site of the Barkerville Project, has long been recognized as a historical gold producing area. Government records indicate that millions of ounces of alluvial gold were removed from the Barkerville area during the 19th Century.

The Barkerville Project consists of 28 Crown Granted mineral claims 100% owned by Williams Creek.  It straddles several historical alluvial gold streams: Williams Creek, Black Jack Gulch and Stouts Gulch.  WCX's holdings include the benches surrounding the creeks as well as much of the creek areas.

Initial trenching of the area in the 1940s (when the properties were known as the "Westport Project") showed promising results while a limited drilling program conducted over the course of the past decade offered further grounds for encouragement. Presently, Barkerville Gold Mines ("BGM") is in the late stages of mine development at its Bonanza Ledge project in the immediate vicinity of WCX's Barkerville Project.

Drill analyses conducted by Vin Campbell, Ph.D., P.Geo, and ‘qualified person’ under the meaning of National Instrument 43-101

  • 2003 drilling encountered quartz veins up to 1.5m in width, including one which contained visible gold.
  • Hole DDH-03-01 intersected a 0.90 meter section of massive pyrite which returned 1.21 g/t gold.
  • 2005 drilling followed up on the results of the 2003 program, with 6 drill holes totaling 1460 meters.
  • Results included 38.58 meters of 2.6 g/t of gold including within that a quartz vein with 86.8 g/t of gold over 0.64m.
