The reason appears to be sellers, many of which probably bought plenty of shares weeks or even months ago when the company was trading at 1-2 cents. Hard to resist a 300-500% profit or more. In early, out early... to each their own strategy. I'd rather wait until 25 cents, or, if news remains positive, 50 cents or above. But that takes risk tolerance.
While short term traders may make or subsidize their weekly income with short trades, I'm persuaded that it's better to load up on something that is cheap with clear value and wait a bit. Buy at a dime and sell at a dollar in other words.
