Bring on the Virtual Networks :) $$$$

Bring on the Virtual Networks :) $$$$Sandvine Virtual Series: Overview Supporting industry and open standards, the Sandvine Virtual Series delivers Sandvines powerful Policy Engine, PCEF/TDF, and PCRF as elastically-scalable virtual network functions for SDN- and NFV-ready networks Communications service providers (CSPs) are continually looking for ways to increase efficiency and deliver rich new services through the carrier cloud, and for those reasons many are exploring the promise of software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV). SDN seeks to separate the data plane and control plane in all networks, and to have any linkage/paths between network functions be defined by software, on-the-fly, via APIs. SDN is a deployment tool that enables a programmable network. NFV is a carrier-led effort to move away from proprietary hardware, motivated by desires to dramatically reduce the cost of deployment by using standard x86 commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware for everything. Running all functions on identical, shared hardware promises a much simpler, more efficient network. For Sandvine and our customers, virtualization technology extends our network policy control deployment options, enabling exciting new use cases and extending our proven solutions to new environments. The Sandvine Virtual Series enables CSPs to enjoy all the features of the traditional Sandvine platform while benefiting from the elasticity and efficiency of running virtual machines on off-the-shelf hardware. With this model, deployments scale up or down as needed, in lock-step with demand. Deployment Versatility through Openness and Standards Support The Sandvine Virtual Series provides hassle-free integration with standard SDN and NFV architectures: Fully virtualized and interoperable with OpenStack Proven integration with industry leading virtual platforms, including Junipers Contrail Partnerships and program membership with other leading companies, including: Intel, Alcatel-Lucent CloudBand, Dell, and Red Hat.
