RE:RE:RE:Thoughts?Let me take a shot.
Blackrock is a mutual fund company, among other things.
As such, they own securities in various companies, such as PTM, in various funds that they manage.
Their individual mutual funds go up and down in value, based on the specific securities that each particular fund owns.
This particular fund, Blackrock Capital Structure Investment Fund, finished in 20th place for the worst performance through 9 months of 2016.
It is a fixed income hedge fund. As such, I doubt it has any holdings in PTM.
The article was a little nebulous I think.
Odey has the worst performance of any fund through 9 months, according to the article. Odey had a lot of gold, and possibly other precious metals in their portfolio. IF Odey had a forced redemption, that would certainly impact the market, as they have about $8.9 B assets under management. I couldn't ascertain whether they hold any PTM or not.
I think that the only relationship between Odey and Blackrock is that they both appear on the same list, and are not necesarily otherwise interrelated.
Whatever securities that Odey might liquidate, would be independent of any securities that Blackrock might liquidate.
Hope this helps.
