So what do they do? Instead of cancelling it altogether to stop the brutal canibalization, they added 3x weekly from YVR to maintain the solitary slot, thereby guaranteeing a further collapse of their YVR-LHR yields next summer.
What did I say about the TATL? It's in the sewer for the legacy airlines, and not getting better if you checked out Delta, AA or UAL's precipitous load declines in October.
It's all about cheap fuel. As much as $110 a bbl fuel made airline bosses look like idiots, $45 fuel is making them look like geniuses.
If you've followed AC for any length of time, basing your investing strategy on their 3Q results is a bit like crowing about your gas guzzlers fuel economy driving from the top of the Coquihalla highway down to Hope BC. What's it like heading the other direction?
It's easy street in the summer when all that capacity can be flown. It's not as easy when 20% of the capacity is parked in the weeds for 6 months yet fixed costs remain unchanged.
Watch and wait. History always repeats itself.
Spoken like a short losing his entire estate. Let's see what excuse you'll come up with when this is trading at $15. Cheers
