RE:The Shorts

RE:The ShortsDMA, several years ago I asked my broker (at the time) the same question about a stock I owned.  He was a "market maker" himself, which meant he created a market in some OTC or thinly traded company by offering to buy and sell the stock.  He said that the profit he made for the day was not based on the actual prices traded but the overall spread for the day.  And what I asked him about, he said, was the market maker trying to widen the spread for the day, thus affecting his profit.  That is not to say that someone couldn't buy or sell a small amount of stock to round out or close out his position, but based on what he told me, but such trades are usually done by the person who helps create the market for Genoil.  I believe such trades are usually at the top or the bottom of the trading range.  I assume it is the same now.  I don't see how a short-seller could have a financial advantage by selling such small quantities.
